Latest News: The growers have been busy!
Much has happened since the launch in the Mansion House in May. We are delighted with the enthusiasm and commitment of all involved in what promises to be a fantastic festival in Wolfe Tone Park on September 29th. The generosity of all involved is most grateful. Working together as a team has been at the heart of the festival. Many pledges of donations of food for the day have been made. Re the storage of the produce for the festival, Gavin Kenny has generously offered the use of his lock up garage. We want to keep everyone up to date on progress to date.
Willie Brennan has been working really hard and has his supply of home grown comfrey ready to distribute from his South Circular Road garden. Willie is also donating herbs for the festival.
Fingal County Council has very kindly offered to supply apples for the event from Newbridge Demesne, Donabate;
Free copies of the Dublin City Guide to Community Gardening will be provided by the Dublin Community Forum.
Marion Kelly in addition to sourcing the apples has received a pledge from CBC of some candles. Marion has also secured bags for the distribution of the produce from Creative Binding Ltd and Evans Ltd.
Mary Gunning has kindly pledged to donate green beans she is growing in the Heritage Garden.
WALK is a progressive organisation where people who have intellectual disabilities are supported to live self determined lives within socially inclusive communities. Walk has kindly offered to provide vegetables from their garden along with a donkey and cart.
The Serenity Community Garden growers in Phibsborough have also very kindly pledged to provide herbs for the festival.
Huge thanks also to Philo Kielty and Derek Moffat for their pledge to donate herbs.
