Gardening volunteers are invited to come along to the Heritage Walled Garden, at Avila, Donnybrook, on Sunday, April 22nd. This community garden has just started out and its members are planning to erect a polytunnel on the day. So, if you’d like to learn how to put up a polytunnel or want to support community garden, come along.
The meitheal will run from 12 noon until 5 p.m. and fun and sunshine is expected! Sandwiches and tea will also be provided.
To get there:
- Coming from city centre, follow signs for the N11.
- At Junction 45, continue forward onto Lower Leeson Street and then through lights onto Upper Leeson Street. Bear right onto Sussex Road (following signs for N11). Travel along Sussex Road.
- At second set of traffic lights, take a right onto Bloomfield Avenue. There is a small road sign for the Royal Hospital, which is also on Bloomfield Avenue, on the left hand side of the road here.
- Continue down the avenue for 50 metres. Avila is on the left. Take the second entrance into Avila and find parking. The Walled Garden is on the right.
