2013 Harvest Festival Gallery

Pressing Apples at the 2013 Harvest Festival

Last September saw the inauguration of the first Dublin Harvest Festival. This free community festival was held in Wolfe Tone Park, Dublin 1, on Saturday the 29th September 2012. Gardeners from all over the city brought produce to donate on the day. Visitors could collect the harvested goods at the Food Hub Marquee. Over 300 bags of locally grown produce were handed out to the public.

Many individuals and community groups participated in the event. Many helped with the organisation, others volunteering to help out on the day, or donating produce.

Everything went flawlessly which is quite an achievement for a first night show! This is even more impressive as it was delivered by unpaid volunteers.

The desire, support, and appetite to see a follow up Harvest Festival event for 2013 has been universal, and so we are delighted to announce the launch of the 2013 Dublin Harvest Festival. The launch will be held at the Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, at 8 pm on Thursday the 7th March 2013. The Harvest Festival is scheduled for September 2013.

The launch is an opportunity to thank volunteers, supporters, and sponsors alike, while we will also be promoting the many interconnected benefits of the celebration of community produce and cooperation that characterizes the Dublin Harvest Festival.
