Donal McCormack and Maeve Foreman made a submission last Wednesday 12th May to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands.
They raised the main challenges that affect many Community Gardens today, like temporary licenses/agreements with the land providers (i.e. local authorities, private landowners) and lack of secure funding. They propose to allocate funds to support existing gardens and the creation of new ones in the next budget.
