RTE Nationwide forecasted on their 22nd September 2021 program their recent visit to Cherry Orchard Community Garden on their busy market’s day.

The  Garden was developed as one of the Cherry Orchard Regeneration Projects in 2010.
It was officially opened in September 2010 with a visit from the President Mary McAleese.
This initiative was set up by the Cherry Orchard Regeneration Board with funding from Dublin City Council and assistance from City Dublin Vocational Educational Committee(Now the Education and Training Board).
Management of the garden was handed over to the Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership in 2012. The Steering Committee was formed in 2013 and the Partnership was asked to chair the committee. Currently the members of the committee are community gardeners, representatives from the allotment holder’s forum, Tus Team Leader, Enterprise Coordinator, Community Development Coordinator, CEO Equine Centre, and the Tus outreach worker.
