Community Gardens Ireland, the network of community gardens on the island of Ireland, is ten years old this year! Their Spring gathering and AGM had to be held online last March, but their Autumn gathering is now able to take place in person and is being hosted by Top of the City Community Garden in Waterford city.
It’s on Saturday 25th September from 11 to 6 pm and is open to all community gardens and their supporters to attend.
The idea to connect community gardeners around Ireland was first muted at the GIY Harvest Festival in Waterford in 2011, so it’s fitting that this year’s Autumn gathering is taking place in Waterford and includes a visit to GIY’s GROW HQ for lunch and a talk by GIY founder Mick Kelly.
Places are limited so do book quickly. There’s a charge to cover costs/lunch at GIY’s GROW HQ, but if money is a problem do let CGI know – depending on numbers registered, they may be able to offer concessions.
